Solar Special Improvement District
Looking for an opportunity to show your community support? The Fund for Our Economic Future, a philanthropic collaboration that works to strengthen the economic competitiveness of Northeast Ohio, has named ten finalists competing for EfficientGovNow awards and Parma is one of those ten finalists.
Three winners will be determined by your public vote to be held from May 1 through May 31, 2010 with the Fund reserving the option to award a fourth grant to a collaboration involving smaller communities. As a member of The First Suburbs Development Council, Parma is eligible to be a part of an exciting opportunity to advance the green movement in Northeast Ohio to property owners of commercial and industrial sites. Show your support for the First Suburbs Development Council’s proposal to EfficientGovNow by giving your one vote to “Let the Sun Shine...The Cleveland - First Suburbs Solar Special Improvement District Pilot Program”. An abstract of this program can be read here.
You can place your vote on the EfficientGovNow website or by calling 1-877-771-5206.
Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant
Over $2.7 billion in formula grants are now available to U.S. states, territories, local governments under the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program. The City of Parma is one of these entities, with over $700,000 available. The Block Grant was funded for the first time under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. This Program provides funds to units of local and state government, Indian tribes, and territories to develop and implement projects to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy use and fossil fuel emissions in their communities. The Program is administered by the Office of Weatherization and Intergovernmental Programs (WIP) in the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).
Now we want to hear from you!
The City of Parma will be rolling out various energy efficiency programs to help residents and businesses in our community lower their energy use. Your responses will help us design programs that are tailored to your specific needs.
The time to respond to the surveys has lapsed, but we appreciate all the feedback we received. A copy of the presentation presented during the Wednesday, February 10, 2010 public meeting is available below. The document includes the survey results.
