Mr. Vittardi has been a Parma resident for over 49 years
and has more than 27 years experience in the City’s
Parks and Recreation Department.
As a supervisor in the department, he initiated and developed
the Michael A. Ries Youth Baseball/Softball Complex, which is the first
of its kind in northeast Ohio. He has been honored as a member
of the Parma Sports Hall of Fame for softball (Class of 2000)
and was a member of the 1992 Men’s Class A National
Championship softball team. Mr. Vittardi was a 2008 inductee into the Greater Cleveland Softball Hall of Fame and a 2009 inductee into the Parma Senior High School Alumni Association Hall of Fame.
A founding member and present commissioner of the Tri-City
Youth Football League, Mr. Vittardi was appointed director
of Parks and Recreation in 2004.
The philosophy Director Vittardi would like to institute in the City of Parma is one of safety, participation and sportsmanship. Our guidelines will adhere to these basic ideas. We encourage active participation and family enjoyment of the City of Parma's facilities and recreation programs to service all of our residents - youngsters to seniors.
