City General Fund Revenues & Expenditures
Revenue:
The City of Parma receives a majority of its operating money from municipal income tax. Miscellaneous income includes interest earned, licenses, permits & fees. (64.67% Parma Municipal Income tax, 13.26% State Shared Taxes, 10.58% Property Tax, and 11.49% Misc.)
Expenses:
Safety & Service expenditures account for more than 65 percent of the city's general fund expenses. (54.96% for Safety, 10.72% for Service, 5.91% for Recreation and Seniors, .78% for Public Health & Welfare, 25.59% for General Government and 2.04% for the Building Department.)
Property Tax Rates
The City of Parma has one of the lowest municipal portions of property tax rates in Cuyahoga County. Parma is the seventh largest city in Ohio and has the lowest budget of all major cities in Ohio.
The Parma real estate tax is 92.00 mills per $1,000 valuation. Of this amount, the City of Parma receives only 7.72% or $7.10 per $1,000 valuation. (Parma Schools receive 70.33%, Cuyahoga County receives 17.76%, City of Parma receives 7.72%, and the Cleveland Metroparks receive 4.19%)
Preparing & Filling Your Annual Return
Your annual return is due by April 15, 2009. It can be mailed
using the enclosed envelope or filed in person at Parma City
Hall. Bring all necessary W2, 1099's and etc. to the
Division of taxation at City Hall during business hours.

Treasurer Mastroianni was appointed Treasurer on May 5, 2011 after having served as Clerk of Council for five years and as Ward 7 Councilman for two years. He attended Tri-C West and is a graduate of Kent State University with a degree in Justice Studies.
Prior to being appointed Treasurer, he was a local Parma business owner for 15 years. Treasurer Mastroianni is active with today’s youth, being one of the co-founders of the Anthony Zielinski Leadership for Tomorrow Program. This program helps educate local 5th grade students about the workings of municipal government and what they can do to play an active role in government.
