The Small Business Administration (SBA) Disaster Assistance Program has been made available to the residents that incurred damage from the flooding on August 7, 2007. The SBA program can provide low interest disaster assistance loans. In addition, the Governor has made available the State Individual Assistance Program.
Also available to Parma residents is TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) - Cash vouchers are available through the Cuyahoga County Department of Jobs and Family Services.

The SBA Loan Center will close at 5:00 PM on Friday, August 31st. The SBA will continue to accept residential loan applications related to the August 7th storm through October 15, 2007 and through May 14, 2008 for business applications. - Affected residents should contact the City to ensure we are aware of the flooding in their home, and to ensure that we continue to contact them relative to available monies and cleanup information.
- Property owners and renters should maintain receipts, take photographs when possible, and maintain documentation of flood damage for insurance purposes.
- The City of Parma and its residents will not have access to FEMA funds. The City, County, and State administrations are working to gain access to all other available funds.
- The Parma Community Services & Economic Development offers $150 reimbursement vouchers to residents 65 years old and over for cleanup. All residents living in the house must be 65 years old and over, and the home must in the resident’s name. Eligible applicants should call 216-661-7372 to provide the info over the phone. Please maintain the receipt from the contractor that performed the cleanup. This money is only available for cleanup, but there are no income requirements.
- The City has begun extra trash pickup for affected residents. Please place all trash on the tree lawn. The City cannot indicate when the garbage truck will be at your home, but we will stop at all affected residences about which we have been notified.
- Governor Strickland declared a State of Emergency in Cuyahoga County as a result of the flooding on August 7, 2007.
