Columbia Gas Riser Replacement Program

The City of Parma has been notified that Columbia Gas will be replacing gas line risers at approximately 9,000 Parma residences between mid-May and September 2010.

In the documents below you will find information about the program, template door hangers and mailers that affected residents have or will receive, a media advisory, and a diagram explaining what a riser is.

The important thing to note is that this work will be done at no cost to consumers because it is already covered in the monthly bill, and that a Columbia Gas representative must enter the home after the work is complete to relight any pilots and assure that there are no gas leaks. This is for the safety of the homeowner. The local contractor hired by Columbia Gas to perform this work is InfraSource.

Evening hours will be provided to ensure that homeowners will not be without gas supply to their homes for an extended period of time. A customer service number to restore service will be provided on a door hanger left at your home after the riser replacement is complete.

Residents should be encouraged to request to see ID prior to allowing entry. Information on what the ID will look like is included below.
